Depending on the outlet emission constraints for your site, a standalone Bioscrubber or a multistage process can be supplied, to provide a process which is simple to operate and maintain, removing any requirement for chemical dosing & storage.
Bioscrubber technology is usually selected when the odorous air stream has a high content of Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S). The process is similar to biofiltration, with the odorous air passes through a wetted media, but with bioscrubbing a wet bed of inorganic pumice stone/lava rock is used. Again this acts as a host for a layer of biofilm. Bacteria populate the biofilm and produce acid as a byproduct of the reaction of H2S with oxygen and hence the pH of the liquor will decrease as it passes down the filter. Other salts and by-products also have to be purged from the system.
Our systems are designed on a project by project basis and are designed and built to BS4994 and fully compliant with WIMES 8.05. The full turn key projects for Bioscrubbers can include:
Plasticon also provide both reactive and planned maintenance services to ensure that your odour control systems are maintained to achieve optimal performance and operation.
